Rolex Transatlantic Challenge aboard the Sariyah 2005
A 15 person team sailed the yacht Sariyah in the Rolex Transatlantic Race in May 2005 from New York City to The Needles, on the Isle of Wight, UK.
Sariyah is a 128 foot Sparkman and Stevens designed boat built by Sensation Yachts in New Zealand.
Kevin drives Sariyah while Blair looks up at the Staysail Gennaker Trim.
Sariyah reaches along in 25 knots of breeze. The boat hit speeds of 16 knots.
Kevin helms the boat on a close reach.
Captain Tim Laughridge and Kevin both steer to keep the boat on course in 40 knot plus winds.
The team enjoys a presentation on the Olympics given by Kevin in the main cabin.
Rain approaches the boat from the big cumulus cloud in the middle of the photo. On either side are funnel clouds hovering above the surface of the ocean, spreading out into infinity.
