Burnham Races at NYYC Race Week on Swan 45 YASHA

Miami Beach, Florida (July 14, 2006) –  Olympic Gold Medalist Kevin Burnham will head up to Newport, Rhode Island next week to compete in the NYYC Race Week in the One-design Swan 45 division on Yasha.  Burnham will be the tactician on Yasha which is owned and skippered by Mr. Ishida of Japan.  Eleven Races are scheduled to take place on Rhode Island Sound and Narragansett Bay from July 20-23rd.

In June, the Yasha team finished in 2nd place at the NYYC Annual Regatta with Mr. Ishida skippering and Kevin calling tactics.  The competition at the NYYC Race Week will be even more difficult.  The other Swan 45s committed to race next week include: Massimo Ferragamo's Italian entrant Bellicosa, Steve Devoe's Devocean, Dick Weismann's Vixen, and Andrew Fisher's Bandit.  Yasha is using these summer regattas to prepare the team for the Swan 45 World Cup in Porto Cervo in September 2006, where twenty-seven Swan 45s are already registered.
